NEED TO KNOW BASIS
Upon Arrival - Event Day:
All athletes will be required to check in on the day of the event. Briefing times heat schedule will be announced 2 weeks before the competition. Informations packs will be supplied beforehand with all the relevant information.
Medical Team:
A Medical Team will be present at the Auckland Competition to assist all athletes. Medical staff will also be available to tend to judges, spectators, and event staff in the case of any medical emergencies, injuries, or first aid needs.
The College Youth Games Media Team:
Our skilled and talented media team will be capturing every moment of the event and competition divisions. Photos will be posted on event social media and will also be available to athletes following the event. For any reason you do not wish to be photographed during the event - please make this known to the event organisers asap
Event Check-in:
Upon arrival at the event, head to the designated check-in table for your division to receive your event pack. This pack will contain all the necessary info to grant you access to the competition.
Marshalling:
Athletes are required to be at the marshalling stalls 10 minutes before their heat. It is the athlete’s responsibility to know their heat time and be ready for the event.
Missing your heat will result in a score of zero for the event. A detailed competition schedule will be available closer to the event.
Smoke Free, Drug Free, Alcohol Free Zone
This event is a fully drug, smoke and alcohol FREE zone. Under no circumstances are there to be any presence of the mentioned items (which included vaping) Any behaviour of this will result in immediate disqualification from the event sna dremoval from the premises
Athlete Conduct:
The College Youth Games values community and aims to ensure everyone enjoys the event. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse, aggression, or harassment towards event crew, judges, fellow athletes, or spectators.
All athletes and coaches are expected to treat others respectfully at all times. For any reason we the event organisers feel the integrity of the event is being impacted by negative behavior - the persons involved will be removed immediately from competition or the premises.
Appealing A Score:
All score queries are to be addressed directly with the Head Judge of the event. This person will be introduced during the morning briefing. The query must be immediately following the event in question. Coaches may participate in the appeals process, but only in collaboration with the athlete after the event concludes.
Athletes may not protest issues related to the judgment, scoring, or performance of another athlete or team.
Athletes or teams cannot appeal live judgment decisions, such as:
Range of motion faults (e.g., squat depth, hip/knee/arm extension, lift stabilization overhead).
However, athletes or teams can appeal the following:
Inconsistencies or errors in scorecards or leaderboards
Counting errors (e.g., incorrect rep counts)
Loading errors
Equipment or monitor malfunctions NOT caused by the athlete
Miscommunication from judges regarding movement standards, event order, or directions
Interference from another athlete or person that affected progress
Appeal Process:
Each athlete/team starts with two appeals.
After each test, they may appeal if eligible (see list above).
If an appeal is granted, the athlete/team retains their appeal count.
If an appeal is denied, one appeal will be deducted from their count.
Once all appeals are used, no further appeals can be made for the remainder of the competition.
Failure to meet mandatory competition responsibilities, such as athlete registration, may result in losing an appeal at the Head Judge’s discretion.
